There was a scuffle on Tuesday night in the Embakasi area when police on patrol arrested two KDF officers. According to a report filed at Embakasi police station under OB number 02/28/8/2024, the incident occurred at 0200 hours.
The report further said that duty officers at Kware police station within the pipeline area managed to arrest three people. The report goes on to say that upon reaching the Cornerstone area within Pipeline Estate, they managed to arrest two more people whom they handcuffed and placed inside the station vehicle.
“The team drove towards the station; immediately one unknown person ran towards the vehicle and jumped inside, then violently grabbed one police officer by the neck, strangling her, stated the police OB report. As the action continued, the police report reveals that the two arrested people (KDF officers) also joined in the struggle, reaching for the firearm, where the two persons who had been handcuffed began shouting, informing the KDF officer who had jumped into the motor vehicle to grab the magazine where a discharge occurred.
The team, according to police, drove directly to the station, where it was identified that the one who was strangling a female police officer had sustained gunshot injuries on the right thigh. In contrast, the female police officer suffered bruises on the neck, a torn sweater, and a torn blouse.
The injured suspect, the OB discloses further, was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital, where he’s undergoing treatment. As this went on, the two KDF officers continued to be violent while at the station and they declined to identify themselves. “Finally, they were subdued, and upon searching them, it was established that they were KDF officers from Kenya Air Force and Kenya Army. They also produced a military identity card belonging to their colleague who sustained gunshot injuries, the OB report read further.
The two KDF officers were placed in custody at Embakasi police station as the local DCI officers investigated the matter.
