Foreign National Charged with Possession of Weapon

A foreign national has been charged with possession of a weapon and other related offences. Mohamed Liban Aden appeared before Makadara Senior Principal Magistrate Philip Wambua Mutua, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the charge sheet, on September 20, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM in Jamstreet, Eastleigh, Nairobi, Aden was allegedly found armed with a knife under circumstances suggesting intent to commit a felony, specifically robbery with violence.

In addition to the weapon charge, Aden, a Somali national, was also charged with being unlawfully present in the country without a valid pass or visa, in violation of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act of 2011.

Aden was granted a bond of Ksh. 50,000 or an alternative cash bail of Ksh. 30,000. The case will be mentioned on October 23, 2024, with the hearing set for April 24, 2025.
