Metrofile, a leader in information and records management, has teamed up with the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) to drive digital transformation in Africa’s information sector. The collaboration included sponsorship of this year’s KARMA workshop in Naivasha, which took place from Monday through Friday, November 8. The event marked Africa’s largest gathering of records management professionals, focusing on the theme: Transitioning from Digitization to Digital Transformation.

Metrofile’s Managing Director, Jackline Mburu, spoke at the conference, sharing insights on how digital transformation is reshaping data management and empowering businesses in the digital age. “We are honored to be part of this year’s KARMA conference and to contribute to discussions that underscore the transformative potential of digital information management across Africa,” Mburu said.

Mburu emphasized Metrofile’s commitment to transforming traditional document management into a seamless, digital ecosystem that not only secures data but accelerates business growth. This mission aligns with Metrofile’s latest offering, EverFiles, a cloud storage solution that enables businesses in East Africa to manage data within Kenya’s borders, ensuring regulatory compliance, data sovereignty, and security.

As the first Kenyan-hosted cloud solution of its kind, EverFiles meets the rising demand for Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing (EFSS) solutions—a market projected to reach USD 2.69 billion by 2029. In recent discussions with KARMA officials, Metrofile explored key initiatives for knowledge-sharing and skill development for young professionals in the records management field.

The workshop also highlighted the public sector’s shift toward digital, with attendees addressing how records management contributes to economic growth, connectivity, and inclusivity. As Mburu noted, “The theme of this year’s conference was timely, aligning with Metrofile’s mission to champion digital transformation across Africa.”
