A Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has been charged in a Nairobi court for allegedly forging the signature of Indian-Kenyan author and publisher Malkiat Singh Dhillon, in an attempt to fraudulently promote himself to the position of Production Manager at a printing company.
Cheekati Narsimha Rao, the CEO and General Manager of Printing Services Limited, appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi on Friday, where he denied the criminal charges of forgery.
According to the prosecution, Rao committed the alleged offence on April 1, 2010, at an undisclosed location within Kenya. He is accused of forging Dhillon’s signature on an appointment letter, falsely presenting himself as a Production Manager at Printing Services Limited. The letter was purportedly signed by Dhillon, who also serves as the company’s Managing Director.
After pleading not guilty, Rao sought reasonable bail terms, citing unemployment since April 2024 and health challenges. He assured the court that he was not a flight risk.
