As by-elections approach in Malava constituency, Kakamega County, a new wave of leadership is emerging. The by-election comes after the death of Malava MP Malulu Injendi.

At the forefront is Dr. Enock Andanje, the visionary principal of Bungoma High School, whose leadership credentials and transformative agenda are quickly gaining attraction among Malava residents. With a sterling record in education and a clear roadmap for development, Andanje is now eyeing the Malava parliamentary seat, a move that has been welcomed with enthusiasm across the constituency.

Andanje’s leadership journey is rooted deeply in education. As the principal of Bungoma High School, he has been credited with revitalizing one of the region’s most prominent institutions. Under his stewardship, the school has seen significant infrastructural and academic growth.

One of his most notable achievements was the construction of a modern and iconic school gate, a project that not only enhanced the institution’s physical appearance but also symbolized a new era of excellence and pride. This initiative was accomplished through a collaborative effort between the school administration and the alumni association, a testament to Andanje’s inclusive leadership style and his ability to mobilize stakeholders towards a common vision.

The new gate has since become a symbol of transformation, inspiring both current students and the community at large. Bungoma High School’s gate project reflects Andanje’s commitment to progress and his belief in the power of partnership values he now seeks to extend to the national stage through political leadership.

Andanje’s decision to vie for the Malava parliamentary seat has been met with widespread support from the local community. Residents have expressed confidence in his ability to deliver tangible results, citing his track record at Bungoma High School as proof of his dedication, accountability and leadership. Education, health, and Infrastructural development remains a cornerstone of Andanje’s vision for Malava.

Speaking to the press on Saturday, Andanje said that having spent decades in the academic sector, he understands firsthand the challenges that schools and students face in rural constituencies. He pledged to prioritize the development of educational infrastructure, increase access to learning resources and promote academic excellence.

“My dream is to see every child in Malava have access to quality education regardless of their background,” he said. Beyond education, Andanje said that he is committed to advancing other areas of development, including youth empowerment, healthcare and infrastructure.

He also vowed to work collaboratively with other elected leaders in the region to ensure that development projects are harmonized and impactful to the locals. “I believe in the power of collaboration,” he remarked.

With this inclusive approach, Andaje said that he aims to form strong partnerships with county officials, community leaders and development organizations to ensure that Malava constituency receives its fair share of national resources and development projects.

Andanje, however, argues that he represents a new generation of leaders principled, visionary and grounded in service.

“As I transition from the academic sphere to the political arena, the people of Malava are hopeful that I will bring the same dedication and transformative spirit that has defined my career in education,” Andanje stated.
