The Nairobi factory utilizes on-site solar installations as part of its renewable energy sources, helping to eliminate Scope 2 emissions and significantly reduce its carbon footprint. This transition is expected to prevent approximately 3.5 tons of CO2 emissions annually, setting a new standard for sustainability in the region.

Nancy Mwathi, Plant Manager at Henkel’s Nairobi Adhesives Factory, expressed, “This is a significant milestone for our team and an essential part of Henkel’s broader vision. Witnessing the completion of this project, which began in 2021, in 2024, has been both exciting and transformative. By aligning our efforts with Henkel’s 2030+ Sustainability Ambition Framework, we are not only contributing to global goals but also making a real difference here in Kenya.”
