Two former TV journalists have successfully moved on with their lives after completing their stay at the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre. The journalists previously worked with NTV and Citizen TV respectively.
The journalists, who faced significant struggles with depression, received support through the intervention of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. After their cases surfaced on several social media platforms, Sonko facilitated their travel to Mombasa and fully sponsored their rehabilitation.
Both individuals have made a full recovery and are now in excellent health. One of the journalists has already secured employment with a leading television station and is set to return to the air soon, while the other is preparing to reunite with family for the Christmas holidays.
Speaking after his recovery, one of the journalists emphasized the importance of seeking help and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
Sonko commended the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre for their efforts and announced that Conjestina Achieng, the former boxing champion who has also been undergoing treatment at the facility, will be discharged next week.
