Isukha South MCA Aspirant Andrew Mache Takes a Stand on Education and Infrastructure, Criticizes Incumbent Leadership

Isukha South Ward aspiring MCA Andrew Mache is making infrastructure development a priority for his campaign, focusing on improving schools and roads in the area. Working in collaboration with Shinyalu MP Fred Ikana, Mache has launched an initiative to dig pit latrines in schools, addressing what he sees as an urgent need for better facilities. He criticized the current MCA, Charles Lwanga, accusing him of neglecting his duties and failing to implement projects that would improve the community.

Speaking at Shidodo Primary School during the inauguration of a new-storey classroom building, Mache highlighted the poor state of school infrastructure in the region. “The current MCA is sleeping on the job. Schools in this area need better infrastructure and more projects,” Mache said. He also emphasized that his campaign was focused on transforming the area, including a road construction program aimed at bringing roads up to bitumen standards.

“The roads are impassable and lack bridges. If the current MCA can’t show any meaningful projects since taking office in 2022, then it’s time for a change,” he added, claiming that come 2027, the public would vote out the incumbent, not just himself.

Mache encouraged residents to support educational improvements, stressing that the key to a prosperous future lies in investing in the next generation.

He also praised MP Fred Ikana for his commitment to education, noting that the storey classroom buildings being constructed are a significant investment in local schools, designed to improve student performance in the coming years.

“These projects are not for self-interest. MP Ikana could have built these in major towns, but he chose to invest in schools, which will benefit students and the nation in the long run,” Mache said.

In a concerning development, Mache revealed that he had been attacked by political opponents, with one of his supporters stabbed multiple times. Despite this, no arrests have been made.

“I was attacked, and one of my supporters was stabbed eight times. The suspect was set free. This is an attempt to tarnish my name, but I stand firm. I call on my opponents to engage in peaceful, constitutional politics,” Mache stated.

Looking ahead, Mache confirmed he would soon unveil his manifesto, which promises road construction, improved sanitation in schools, and job creation for youth in the area.
