New NG-CDF Fund Manager Appointed For Lurambi Constituency

Lurambi Constituency has welcomed a new NG-CDF fund manager, Winstone Lihanda, who has taken over from Humphrey Sechero following his transfer to Malava Constituency.

Speaking during the handover ceremony held at the NG-CDF Lurambi Constituency office, former Kakamega Town Mayor and NG-CDF Chairperson Matias Sichere confirmed Sechero’s transfer, noting that he could not serve both constituencies due to a heavy backlog of work.

The transfer follows the recent passing of Malava MP Malulu Injedi, who was laid to rest the previous day.

The chairperson acknowledged that Lurambi Constituency residents had faced significant challenges in accessing bursaries. However, he assured them that all processes were now in place following the appointment of the new fund manager.

He urged residents to be patient, stating that from next week, the office would begin issuing cheques and that planned activities would proceed as scheduled.

“There has been a delay due to the transition of the new fund manager, as new signatures need to be updated in the bank this week. Once this is completed and the necessary permit is issued, transactions for Lurambi Constituency will resume,” said Sichere.

Imam Idris Mohamed of Kakamega Jamia Mosque Community and Islamic Centre, who is also a member of the NG-CDF Lurambi Constituency Committee, expressed his appreciation for the smooth transition, highlighting that peace and agreement were maintained throughout the process.

The Imam commended Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala for prioritising bursaries and assured residents that all students would receive the necessary financial support.

“The MP has visited all schools within the constituency and distributed forms to students. He has pledged that all learners, including those from the Muslim community, will receive bursaries,” he stated.

The Imam further urged the public to uphold peace and unity during this holy month of Ramadan.
