Kiru Tea Factory in Murang’a County has joined hands with KTDA Holdings Limited (KTDA) Foundation, TechnoServe, CASA, and SokoFresh to roll out a strategic avocado diversification project aimed at boosting farmers’ incomes and promoting long-term sustainability.
During a consultative meeting with the factory’s leadership, Kiru Tea Factory Chairman, Chege Kirundi, together with his Board of Directors, expressed full support for the initiative, describing it as a timely and forward-looking move to secure better livelihoods for farmers amid shifting market dynamics.

Mr Kirundi commended the partner organisations for their innovative approach and reaffirmed Kiru’s commitment to championing practical solutions that empower tea farmers beyond traditional income sources. He noted that diversification into high-value crops such as avocado aligns with the factory’s broader strategy of strengthening farmers’ economic resilience and sustainability.
Under the stewardship of Chairman Chege Kirundi, Kiru Tea Factory has demonstrated visionary leadership by embracing innovation, accountability, and farmer-centred initiatives that have positioned the factory as a model of progressive agribusiness management.
