A high court in Malindi has terminated the murder case against CS Isha Jumwa. The move follows an application by the Director of Public Prosecution DPP seeking to drop the charges leveled against the C’s. Through Lawyers Danstan Omari and Shadrack, Wambui DPP has agreed to the application to have the matter withdrawn.
The case has been before Malindi court Judge Anne Angucho. According to the lawyers, there was no direct link to the CS after the ballistic was done and it also emerged that Jumwa has never owned a gun.
“The CS was attending a political rally in her Malindi constituency, she was an MP then when chaos erupted which caught everyone unaware including Jumwa and gunshot rent the air leading to the death of one person,” said Omari.
According to Omari, the murder charges leveled against his client were politically instigated and that the court is planning to use her as a key witness in that matter.
