Residents of Eastleigh in Nairobi today protested outside Milimani court buildings opposing the charging of Pangani police officer Rashid Ahmed over claims of killing suspects in Eastleigh area. Protestors opposed the taking of a plea by a Pangani-based police officer over the killing of two youths by police officers in a video that went viral recently.
The demonstrators were joined in the protest by some businessmen from the area and lawyers Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta who are representing the officer. The lawyers have filed a petition challenging Mr Ahmed’s taking a plea before the court.
