Salano Inzai, 39, underwent a vasectomy believing it would finally give his family reliable, permanent contraception. But just weeks later, his wife fell pregnant, because the couple ignored the vital three-month rule.

“Doctors tell you to wait 90 days or have at least 21 ejaculations AND get a zero sperm count confirmed. I only heard the ’21 ejaculations’ part and rushed it in one week,” Inzai told The Weekly Vision.
The surprise “vasectomy baby”, their fifth child, will turn three in May 2026. The pregnancy came shortly after his wife had recovered from a Caesarean section, causing the couple considerable stress.
Inzai, who grew up in a family of over 18 children, now campaigns for vasectomy awareness with Marie Stopes Kenya. He has helped more than 100 men take the step safely. Health experts stress: vasectomy is over 99.9% effective, but only if post-procedure instructions are followed strictly. Full story with expert advice in Monday’s e-paper @ www.theweeklyvision.net
