During Raila’s state funeral in Bondo yesterday, emotions ran high as party leaders openly disagreed on the path forward. ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna and Kisii Governor Simba Arati called for a return to the party’s traditional role as the voice of opposition, arguing that Raila’s legacy must be preserved through principled politics. In contrast, Cabinet Secretaries Hassan Joho and John Mbadi defended ODM’s current collaboration with the government, emphasising the need for political stability and continuity.
