Siaya County is set to host the inaugural Siaya International Trade and Investment Conference (SITICO) in October 2025, a high-level forum designed to attract investors and showcase the county’s economic potential.

The four-day event, scheduled for 14th to 17th October 2025 at the Siaya National Polytechnic, will run under the theme “Positioning Siaya as an Investment Destination: Transformative Growth through Trade and Investment.”

The event will be hosted by Governor James Orengo. SITICO is expected to draw policymakers, business leaders, development partners, and international investors to deliberate on opportunities in trade, industry, and long-term development. Governor Orengo hailed the conference as a milestone in Siaya’s economic agenda, noting that it will provide a strategic platform to highlight the county’s strengths.
“Siaya is endowed with vast agricultural resources, access to the blue economy, and an expanding infrastructure network. The county is ready to welcome investors who will help unlock opportunities for transformative growth,” he said.

The programme will feature plenary sessions, exhibitions, and sector-specific discussions aimed at linking investors with viable ventures. Priority sectors include agriculture and agro-processing, fisheries and the blue economy, energy, manufacturing, ICT, and tourism.

Observers point out that SITICO comes at a pivotal time, as devolved governments seek to fast-track regional growth through private sector partnerships. By positioning itself as a key investment hub within the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB), Siaya hopes to attract capital inflows that will spur job creation, value addition, and sustainable livelihoods.

In addition to showcasing opportunities, the forum will offer a platform for dialogue between investors and policymakers on tackling regulatory and infrastructural bottlenecks that often impede growth. Organisers are optimistic that SITICO’s outcomes will align with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the broader national development agenda.

Event planners say that SITICO 2025 is expected to firmly establish Siaya as a credible investment destination and foster long-term partnerships that will drive inclusive, transformative growth for the county and its people.
