Former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli has accused the ODM party leader Raila Odinga of leading anti-government protests that in turn are costing the lives and property of many people. Mr Wakoli said that the protests have affected businesses in the affected counties.
Mr Wakoli spoke to the press on Thursday last week in Bungoma County. The former lawmaker called on Kenyans not to be hoodwinked by President Ruto and Raila’s verbal conflicts arguing that they are aware of what they are doing. “These people are just making you look foolish, don’t fall prey to their conflicts, they know one another well and they even talk,” Mr Wakoli said. He said that within a period of three to four months, the duo will tie together and work.
“If you can all remember the 2017 politics, former president Uhuru Kenyatta stood firm and said that he wouldn’t work with Raila Odinga at the time, but at the end of the day they shook hands, therefore let Ruto nor Raila not lie to you,” he said. However, Wakoli said that campaigns ended and it is time for the Kenya Kwanza government to deliver on what they pledged to Kenyans.
“There are many things that Ruto promised to work on once sworn in as the President, we want to see his promises fulfilled, “he said. On the 3% housing levy, the former MP asked the state to review it noting that they should come slow. “Ruto should stop deducting workers’ money by force towards the housing plan, he should get the opinions of Kenyans,” he said.
