Governor Nyong’o And Roots Party Leader Hold Talks On Western Kenya’s Political Future

Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o held talks with Roots Party leader Prof George Wajackoyah on Wednesday that touched mainly on the current political affairs of Western Kenya. The two leaders met in Kisumu, and the governor took the opportunity to praise Prof. Wajackoyah’s exemplary leadership of his party. Nyong’o acknowledged how the Roots Party was gaining popularity in Western and Nyanza regions.

“Roots and ODM parties are ours, and we need to work together for the sake of development and unity of our people, said Nyong’o. On his part, Wajackoyah implored the governor to use his wide political experience and connections to uplift the living standards of the people in the region.

Wajackoyah said that the people of the regions enjoy strong historical links encompassing cultural, social, and economic connections, which must be maintained for the betterment of all.

The Roots party leader added that on the way to Kisumu from Western, he was impressed with the number of Tuktuk motorbike operators who had decorated them with his images and those of his party. 

Wajackoyah said he plans to organise two major rallies in Kisumu and Kakamega town before moving to other towns in the region.
