Rigathi Gachagua Challenged to Organize His Events After Limuru Burial Chaos

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua narrowly escaped unscathed yesterday after chaos erupted at a burial meeting in Limuru. The disruption, allegedly orchestrated by hired goons, left several attendees injured and the event in disarray.

Mr Gachagua has faced criticism from opponents, who accuse him of repeatedly gatecrashing well-attended gatherings across the Mount Kenya region, including funerals and other community events. His detractors argue that he should focus on organizing his political meetings instead of exploiting public forums for visibility.

The latest accusations stem from an incident last Sunday at Murang’a’s Ihura Stadium, where Gachagua reportedly gatecrashed an event organized by a prominent Kikuyu gospel musician. The musician had allegedly invested significant personal resources and connections to host the event, but Gachagua’s unexpected arrival disrupted proceedings. Witnesses claim his presence disoriented the gathering, and he departed with a section of the audience afterwards.

Critics have since called on Gachagua to respect the sanctity of other people’s events and demonstrate independent leadership by organizing his own rallies. They argue that his pattern of leveraging such gatherings for political mileage is unbecoming and undermines the spirit of community engagement.
