We had exposed how board room wars coupled with succession politics at Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency led to the cancellation of a multi-million tender even though it had been awarded to the lowest bidding company.  At the center of the tender war is the acting CEO Chrispine Juma against the board chairman Dan Owino.

The advert appeared in The Daily Nation last week

The Acting CEO is said to be facing strong opposition from the board over the manner in which he is running the agency. His appointment in an acting capacity was influenced by his closeness to the former regime of President Uhuru Kenyatta. A section of the board led by the chairman is said to be burning the midnight oil laying strategies on how to kick him out and appoint a substantive CEO.

The behind the scene wars has seen the chairman finally manage to convince members of his board to advertise the position in a move aimed at kicking Mr Chrispine Juma out.  Sources say already the board has someone in mind and that the advert is just a formality.

According to the advert placed in The Daily Nation newspaper last week, the closing date is indicated as 13th March 2023 and applications are to be sent to the board chairman. Sources say the acting CEO does not command enough support from the majority of board members and has literally lost the fight.
