Matungu Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Nabulindo has commissioned a storey tuition block housing eight classrooms at Koyonzo Comprehensive School, part of more than 180 school projects undertaken over the last four years to boost academic performance.
Addressing parents, teachers and education stakeholders during the handover ceremony, the MP also emphasised the construction of ablution blocks and the renovation of classrooms in every school across the constituency. He highlighted Mwira Secondary School as the first to possess a storey building constructed by the NG-CDF, which is already in use by students.
He added that Koyonzo Comprehensive School is the fourth to be commissioned, and urged parents to enrol their children to fill the empty classrooms. Nabulindo announced that Matungu KMTC in Khalaba Ward, which has a three-storey building, will soon be commissioned by President William Ruto, paving the way for the admission of the constituency’s first KMTC students, who will be prioritised for free bursaries to help overcome fee challenges.
“Between this year and next, my office will ensure that Lung’anyiro Primary School, Munami and Mirere receive tuition blocks, among other schools in the rural areas. NG-CDF funds are inadequate, but we will ensure that development reaches every school,” he noted.
Nabulindo, who is committed to infrastructure development and to offering free education to children, is vying for the parliamentary seat for a third term and has pledged to support the construction of storey buildings in every school.
